How To Install astro-python on Debian 10

on Debian 10.
What is astro-python
astro-python is:
This metapackage will install Python 2 packages for astronomy. The packages can be used for interactive analysis, or to create specific programs.
Note that Python 2 is legacy only, Python 3 is the present and future of the language. The support for Python 2 will end in 2020. Please use Python 2 only if you don’t have a choice.
There are three methods to install astro-python
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install astro-python Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-python
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install astro-python
Install astro-python Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-python
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install astro-python
Install astro-python Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install astro-python
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install astro-python
How To Uninstall astro-python on Debian 10
To uninstall only the astro-python
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove astro-python
Uninstall astro-python And Its Dependencies
To uninstall astro-python
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove astro-python
Remove astro-python Configurations and Data
To remove astro-python
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge astro-python
Remove astro-python configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove astro-python
