What is arc-theme

arc-theme is:

Arc is a flat theme with transparent elements for GTK+ 3, GTK+ 2 and GNOME Shell which supports GTK+ 3 and GTK+ 2 based desktop environments like GNOME, Unity, Budgie, Pantheon, Xfce, MATE, etc. Arc also includes a GTK+ theme for Plank.

Arc is available in four variants: Arc, Arc-Darker, Arc-Dark, Arc-Lighter

There are three methods to install arc-theme on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install arc-theme Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install arc-theme using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install arc-theme

Install arc-theme Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install arc-theme using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install arc-theme

Install arc-theme Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install arc-theme using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install arc-theme

How To Uninstall arc-theme on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the arc-theme package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove arc-theme

Uninstall arc-theme And Its Dependencies

To uninstall arc-theme and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove arc-theme

Remove arc-theme Configurations and Data

To remove arc-theme configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge arc-theme

Remove arc-theme configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
