How To Install apr on AlmaLinux 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install apr on AlmaLinux 8.
What is apr
The mission of the Apache Portable Runtime (APR) is to provide a free library of C data structures and routines, forming a system portability layer to as many operating systems as possible, including Unices, MS Win32, BeOS and OS/2.
We can use yum or dnf to install apr on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install apr.
Install apr on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install apr using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install apr
Install apr on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install apr using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install apr
How To Uninstall apr on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the apr package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove apr
