What is apparmor-profiles

apparmor-profiles is:

apparmor-profiles provides various experimental AppArmor profiles. Do not expect these profiles to work out-of-the-box.

These profiles are not mature enough to be shipped in enforce mode by default on Debian. They are shipped in complain mode so that users can test them, choose which are desired, and help improve them upstream if needed.

There are three methods to install apparmor-profiles on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install apparmor-profiles Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install apparmor-profiles using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install apparmor-profiles

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install apparmor-profiles using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install apparmor-profiles

Install apparmor-profiles Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install apparmor-profiles using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install apparmor-profiles

How To Uninstall apparmor-profiles on Ubuntu 20.04

To uninstall only the apparmor-profiles package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove apparmor-profiles

Uninstall apparmor-profiles And Its Dependencies

To uninstall apparmor-profiles and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove apparmor-profiles

Remove apparmor-profiles Configurations and Data

To remove apparmor-profiles configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge apparmor-profiles

Remove apparmor-profiles configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove apparmor-profiles configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apparmor-profiles
