How To Install apitrace on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install apitrace on Kali Linux.
What is apitrace
apitrace is:
apitrace is a suite of tools for debugging OpenGL applications and drivers. It includes a tool to generate a trace of all the OpenGL calls an application makes and a tool for replaying these traces and inspecting the rendering and OpenGL state during the program’s execution.
This makes it useful for identifying the sources of graphical corruption in OpenGL applications.
This package contains frontends for the apitrace tool, making it easy to trace applications and replay, compare, profile, and modify existing traces.
There are three methods to install apitrace on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apitrace Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apitraceInstall apitrace Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apitraceInstall apitrace Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apitraceHow To Uninstall apitrace on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the apitrace package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apitraceUninstall apitrace And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apitrace and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apitraceRemove apitrace Configurations and Data
To remove apitrace configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apitraceRemove apitrace configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apitrace configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apitraceDependencies
