How To Install apitrace-gui on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install apitrace-gui on Kali Linux.
What is apitrace-gui
apitrace-gui is:
apitrace is a suite of tools for debugging OpenGL applications and drivers. It includes a tool to generate a trace of all the OpenGL calls an application makes and a tool for replaying these traces and inspecting the rendering and OpenGL state during the program’s execution.
This makes it useful for identifying the sources of graphical corruption in OpenGL applications.
This package contains a graphical frontend for the apitrace tool, making it easy to trace applications and replay, compare, profile, and modify existing traces.
There are three methods to install apitrace-gui on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apitrace-gui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace-gui using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apitrace-guiInstall apitrace-gui Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace-gui using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apitrace-guiInstall apitrace-gui Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apitrace-gui using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apitrace-guiHow To Uninstall apitrace-gui on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the apitrace-gui package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apitrace-guiUninstall apitrace-gui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apitrace-gui and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apitrace-guiRemove apitrace-gui Configurations and Data
To remove apitrace-gui configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apitrace-guiRemove apitrace-gui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apitrace-gui configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apitrace-guiDependencies
