What is apache-commons-daemon
The scope of this package is to define an API in line with the current Java Platform APIs to support an alternative invocation mechanism which could be used instead of the public static void main(String[]) method. This specification covers the behavior and life cycle of what we define as Java daemons, or, in other words, non interactive Java applications.
We can use yum or dnf to install apache-commons-daemon on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install apache-commons-daemon.
Install apache-commons-daemon on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install apache-commons-daemon using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install apache-commons-daemon
Install apache-commons-daemon on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install apache-commons-daemon using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install apache-commons-daemon
How To Uninstall apache-commons-daemon on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the apache-commons-daemon package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove apache-commons-daemon
