How To Install android-androresolvd on Debian 9

In this tutorial we learn how to install android-androresolvd
on Debian 9.
What is android-androresolvd
android-androresolvd is:
Small user space daemon to get the Android DNS server setting and maintain the resolver config on a regulary basis. Note, that this daemon has to be started by some running android programs, in order to have the ANDROID_PROPERTY_WORKSPACE environment variable and the /dev/ashmem file descriptor (usually #9) that is inherited from the calling process. Another note: cannot be started from a login shell, because
bash --login
closes all inherited file descriptors.
This only makes sense to install on a Debian chroot running on Android.
There are three methods to install android-androresolvd
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install android-androresolvd Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update

How To Uninstall android-androresolvd on Debian 9
To uninstall only the android-androresolvd
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove android-androresolvd

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
