What is amiri-quran-fonts
Amiri is a classical Arabic typeface in Naskh style for typesetting books and other running text. Amiri is a revival of the beautiful typeface pioneered in early 20th century by Bulaq Press in Cairo, also known as Amiria Press, after which the font is named. This package contains Quran type of Amiri fonts.
We can use yum or dnf to install amiri-quran-fonts on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install amiri-quran-fonts.
Install amiri-quran-fonts on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install amiri-quran-fonts using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install amiri-quran-fonts
Install amiri-quran-fonts on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install amiri-quran-fonts using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install amiri-quran-fonts
How To Uninstall amiri-quran-fonts on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the amiri-quran-fonts package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove amiri-quran-fonts
