How To Install alt-ergo on Kali Linux

What is alt-ergo

alt-ergo is:

Alt-Ergo is an automatic theorem prover geared towards application in program verification. It is based on CC(X), a congruence closure algorithm parameterized by an equational theory X. Alt-Ergo has built-in provers for propositional logic, linear arithmetic, uninterpreted function symbols, associative-commutative function symbols, polymorphic arrays, user-defined polymorphic record types and polymorphic enumeration types. It has restricted support for reasoning over arbitrary user-defined algebraic types, first-order quantifiers, and non-linear arithmetic.

This package contains the prover as a command-line executable.

There are three methods to install alt-ergo on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install alt-ergo Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install alt-ergo using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install alt-ergo

Install alt-ergo Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install alt-ergo using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install alt-ergo

Install alt-ergo Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install alt-ergo using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install alt-ergo

How To Uninstall alt-ergo on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the alt-ergo package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove alt-ergo

Uninstall alt-ergo And Its Dependencies

To uninstall alt-ergo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove alt-ergo

Remove alt-ergo Configurations and Data

To remove alt-ergo configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge alt-ergo

Remove alt-ergo configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove alt-ergo configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge alt-ergo
