on AlmaLinux 8.
What is alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
This plugin allows any program that uses the ALSA API to access a PulseAudio sound daemon. In other words, native ALSA applications can play and record sound across a network. There are two plugins in the suite, one for PCM and one for mixer control.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio.
Install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
Install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
How To Uninstall alsa-plugins-pulseaudio on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove alsa-plugins-pulseaudio
