How To Install album on Kali Linux

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install album on Kali Linux.

What is album

album is:

Album is a perl script that can create HTML photo albums for your directories of images. It supports themes that determine the visual appearance of the albums. Album creates thumbnails if necessary, and ‘medium sized’ versions of images for web viewing to avoid large downloads of original images. You can also customize your photo albums in many other ways.

This program doesn’t require a web server to work. Once the HTML is generated, you can put it in your “www” directory.

There are three methods to install album on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install album Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install album using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install album

Install album Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install album using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install album

Install album Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install album using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install album

How To Uninstall album on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the album package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove album

To uninstall album and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove album

Remove album Configurations and Data

To remove album configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge album
