Akonadi is an extensible cross-desktop Personal Information Management (PIM) storage service. It provides a common framework for applications to store and access mail, calendars, addressbooks, and other PIM data.
This package installs everything what’s needed for Akonadi to work with PostgreSQL as underlying data storage engine. By default, a local PostgreSQL server instance will be started for each user. Alternatively, connection to an external PostgreSQL database is supported as well.
There are three methods to install akonadi-backend-postgresql on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install akonadi-backend-postgresql Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-postgresql using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
