How To Install aesfix on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aesfix on Kali Linux.
What is aesfix
aesfix is:
This program illustrates a technique for correcting bit errors in an AES key schedule. It should be used with the output of the aeskeyfind program.
It is limited to AES-128 key schedules, and it can only correct unidirectional 1->0 bit errors. For the most part it has been optimized for readability rather than performance.
This package is useful to several activities, as forensics investigations.
There are three methods to install aesfix on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aesfix Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aesfix using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aesfixInstall aesfix Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aesfix using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the aesfix package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aesfixUninstall aesfix And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aesfix and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aesfixRemove aesfix Configurations and Data
To remove aesfix configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aesfixRemove aesfix configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aesfix configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aesfixDependencies
