How To Install aeolus on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aeolus on Kali Linux.
What is aeolus
aeolus is:
Aeolus is a synthesised (i.e. not sampled) pipe organ emulator that should be good enough to make an organist enjoy playing it. It is a software synthesiser optimised for this job, with possibly hundreds of controls for each stop, that enable the user to “voice” his instrument.
Main features of the default instrument: three manuals and one pedal, five different temperaments, variable tuning, MIDI control of course, stereo, surround or Ambisonics output, flexible audio controls including a large church reverb.
Aeolus is not very CPU-hungry, and should run without problems on a e.g. a 1GHz, 256Mb machine.
There are three methods to install aeolus on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aeolus Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aeolus using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aeolusInstall aeolus Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aeolus using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aeolusInstall aeolus Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aeolus using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aeolusHow To Uninstall aeolus on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the aeolus package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aeolusUninstall aeolus And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aeolus and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aeolusRemove aeolus Configurations and Data
To remove aeolus configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aeolusRemove aeolus configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aeolus configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aeolusDependencies
