What is NetworkManager
NetworkManager is a system service that manages network interfaces and connections based on user or automatic configuration. It supports Ethernet, Bridge, Bond, VLAN, Team, InfiniBand, Wi-Fi, mobile broadband (WWAN), PPPoE and other devices, and supports a variety of different VPN services.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install NetworkManager
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install NetworkManager.
Install NetworkManager on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install NetworkManager
using yum
by running the following command:

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
