How To Install IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8.
What is IP2Location-libs
IP2Location C library enables the user to get the country, region, city, coordinates, ZIP code, time zone, ISP, domain name, connection type, area code, weather info, mobile carrier, elevation, usage type, address type and category from any IP address or hostname. This library has been optimized for speed and memory utilization. The library contains API to query all IP2Location LITE and commercial binary databases.
We can use yum or dnf to install IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install IP2Location-libs.
Install IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install IP2Location-libs using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install IP2Location-libs
Install IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install IP2Location-libs using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install IP2Location-libs
How To Uninstall IP2Location-libs on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the IP2Location-libs package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove IP2Location-libs
