How To Install IP2Location on CentOS 7
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install IP2Location on CentOS 7.
What is IP2Location
ip2location command enables the user to get the country, region, city, coordinates, ZIP code, time zone, ISP, domain name, connection type, area code, weather info, mobile carrier, elevation and usage type from any IP address or hostname. This library has been optimized for speed and memory utilization. The library contains API to query all IP2Location LITE and commercial binary databases. Users can download the latest LITE database from IP2Location web site using e.g. the included downloader.
We can use yum or dnf to install IP2Location on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install IP2Location.
Install IP2Location on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install IP2Location using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install IP2Location
Install IP2Location on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install IP2Location using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install IP2Location
How To Uninstall IP2Location on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the IP2Location package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove IP2Location
