What is Canna

Canna provides a user interface for inputting Japanese characters. Canna supports Nemacs (Mule), kinput2, and canuum. All of these tools can then use a single customization file, Romaji-to-Kana conversion rules and dictionaries, and input Japanese in the same way. Canna automatically supports Kana-to-Kanji conversions; the conversions are based on a client-server model.

We can use yum or dnf to install Canna on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install Canna.

Install Canna on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install Canna using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install Canna

Install Canna on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install Canna using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install Canna

How To Uninstall Canna on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the Canna package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove Canna
