What is 2ping

2ping is:

2ping is a bi-directional ping utility. It uses 3-way pings (akin to TCP SYN, SYN/ACK, ACK) and after-the-fact state comparison between a 2ping listener and a 2ping client to determine which direction packet loss occurs.

There are three methods to install 2ping on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install 2ping Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install 2ping using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install 2ping

Install 2ping Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install 2ping using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install 2ping

Install 2ping Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install 2ping using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install 2ping

How To Uninstall 2ping on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the 2ping package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove 2ping

Uninstall 2ping And Its Dependencies

To uninstall 2ping and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove 2ping

Remove 2ping Configurations and Data

To remove 2ping configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge 2ping

Remove 2ping configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
