How To Install xguest on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xguest
on Fedora 36.
What is xguest
Installing this package sets up the xguest user to be used as a temporary account to switch to or as a kiosk user account. The account is disabled unless SELinux is in enforcing mode. The user is only allowed to log in via graphical login program. The home and temporary directories of the user will be polyinstantiated and mounted on tmpfs.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install xguest
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xguest.
Install xguest on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xguest
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xguest
Install xguest on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xguest
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xguest
How To Uninstall xguest on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the xguest
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xguest
