How To Install xclip on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xclip
on Fedora 36.
What is xclip
xclip is a command line utility that is designed to run on any system with an X11 implementation. It provides an interface to X selections (“the clipboard”) from the command line. It can read data from standard in or a file and place it in an X selection for pasting into other X applications. xclip can also print an X selection to standard out, which can then be redirected to a file or another program.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install xclip
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xclip.
Install xclip on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xclip
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install xclip
Install xclip on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xclip
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xclip
How To Uninstall xclip on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the xclip
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove xclip
