How To Install x11trace on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install x11trace
on Fedora 36.
What is x11trace
What strace is for system calls, x11trace is for X11 connections you hook it between one or more X11 clients and an X server and it prints the requests going from client to server and the replies, events and errors going the other way.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install x11trace
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install x11trace.
Install x11trace on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install x11trace
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install x11trace
Install x11trace on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install x11trace
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install x11trace
How To Uninstall x11trace on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the x11trace
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove x11trace
