In this tutorial we learn how to install vlgothic-fonts on Fedora 36.

What is vlgothic-fonts

VLGothic provides Japanese TrueType fonts from the Vine Linux project. Most of the glyphs are taken from the M+ and Sazanami Gothic fonts, but some have also been improved by the project. This package provides the monospace VLGothic font.

We can use yum or dnf to install vlgothic-fonts on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vlgothic-fonts.

Install vlgothic-fonts on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vlgothic-fonts using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install vlgothic-fonts

Install vlgothic-fonts on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vlgothic-fonts using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install vlgothic-fonts

How To Uninstall vlgothic-fonts on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the vlgothic-fonts package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove vlgothic-fonts
