In this tutorial we learn how to install vdr-epgsearch on Fedora 36.

What is `vdr-epgsearch`

This plugin provides a powerful replacement for VDR’s default schedules menu entry. It looks like the standard schedules menu, but adds several functions, such as additional commands for EPG entries, reusable queries which can be used as dynamic “search timers” etc.

We can use yum or dnf to install vdr-epgsearch on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vdr-epgsearch.

Install vdr-epgsearch on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vdr-epgsearch using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install vdr-epgsearch

Install vdr-epgsearch on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install vdr-epgsearch using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install vdr-epgsearch

How To Uninstall vdr-epgsearch on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the vdr-epgsearch package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove vdr-epgsearch
