In this tutorial we learn how to install tpp on Fedora 36.

What is `tpp`

tpp stands for text presentation program and is a ncurses-based presentation tool. The presentation can be written with your favorite editor in a simple description format and then shown on any text terminal that is supported by ncurses - ranging from an old VT100 to the Linux framebuffer to an xterm.

We can use yum or dnf to install tpp on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tpp.

Install tpp on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tpp using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tpp

Install tpp on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tpp using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install tpp

How To Uninstall tpp on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the tpp package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove tpp
