In this tutorial we learn how to install tkdnd on Fedora 36.

What is tkdnd

Tk Drag & Drop to the tk toolkit. It can be used with any tk version equal or greater to 8.4. Under unix the drag & drop protocol in use is the XDND protocol version 4 (also used by the QT toolkit, KDE & GNOME Desktops).

We can use yum or dnf to install tkdnd on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tkdnd.

Install tkdnd on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tkdnd using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tkdnd

Install tkdnd on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tkdnd using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install tkdnd

How To Uninstall tkdnd on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the tkdnd package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove tkdnd
