How To Install texlive-savesym on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-savesym
on Fedora 36.
What is texlive-savesym
There are a number of symbols (e.g., \Square) that are defined by several packages. In order to typeset all the variants in a document, we have to give the glyph a unique name. To do that, we define \savesymbol{XXX}, which renames a symbol from \XXX to \origXXX, and \restoresymbols{yyy}{XXX}, which renames \origXXX back to \XXX and defines a new command, \yyyXXX, which corresponds to the most recently loaded version of \XXX.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-savesym
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-savesym.

Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-savesym
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-savesym

How To Uninstall texlive-savesym on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the texlive-savesym
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-savesym
