In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-mahjong on Fedora 36.
What is texlive-mahjong
The mahjong package provides a LaTeX2e and LaTeX3 interface for typesetting mahjong tiles using an extended version of MPSZ algebraic notation. Features include spaces, rotated, blank, and concealed tiles, as well as red fives. The size of the mahjong tiles can be controlled using a package option and an optional argument of \mahjong. It is primarily aimed at Riichi (aka. Japanese) Mahjong but can be used to typeset any style of mahjong.
We can use yum or dnf to install texlive-mahjong on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-mahjong.
Install texlive-mahjong on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-mahjong using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-mahjong
Install texlive-mahjong on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-mahjong using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-mahjong
How To Uninstall texlive-mahjong on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the texlive-mahjong package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-mahjong
