How To Install texlive-ltxnew on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install texlive-ltxnew
on Fedora 36.
What is texlive-ltxnew
The package ltxnew provides \new, \renew and \provide prefixes for checking definitions. It is designed to work with e-TeX distributions of LaTeX and relies on the LaTeX internal macro @ifdefinable. Local allocation of counters, dimensions, skips, muskips, boxes, tokens and marks are provided by the etex package. \new and \renew as well as \provide may be used for all kind of control sequences. Please refer to the section “Using \new” of the PDF documentation.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-ltxnew
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-ltxnew.
Install texlive-ltxnew on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ltxnew
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-ltxnew

Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-ltxnew
using yum

sudo yum -y install texlive-ltxnew
How To Uninstall texlive-ltxnew on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the texlive-ltxnew
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-ltxnew
