What is texlive-etex
An extended version of TeX (which is capable of running as if it were TeX unmodified). E-TeX has been specified by the LaTeX team as the engine for the development of LaTeX2e, in the immediate future; as a result, LaTeX programmers may (in all current TeX distributions) assume e-TeX functionality. The pdftex engine directly incorporates the e-TeX extensions. The development source for e-TeX is the TeX Live source repository.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install texlive-etex
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install texlive-etex.
Install texlive-etex on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-etex
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install texlive-etex
Install texlive-etex on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install texlive-etex
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install texlive-etex
How To Uninstall texlive-etex on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the texlive-etex
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove texlive-etex
