In this tutorial we learn how to install tcpjunk on Fedora 36.

What is tcpjunk

TCPJunk is a TCP protocols manipulation and hacking utility that can be used in different ways. Similar to netcat, TCPJunk can be used as a client or server, but instead of stdin, it uses a ‘Session file’ as the data to send or receive. TCPJunk can be used as a general testing tool, a traffic generator or a fuzzer, for protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, FTP and others.

We can use yum or dnf to install tcpjunk on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install tcpjunk.

Install tcpjunk on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tcpjunk using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install tcpjunk

Install tcpjunk on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install tcpjunk using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install tcpjunk

How To Uninstall tcpjunk on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the tcpjunk package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove tcpjunk
