What is sunpinyin

Sunpinyin is an input method engine for Simplified Chinese. It is an SLM based IM engine, and features full sentence input. SunPinyin has been ported to various input method platforms and operating systems. The 2.0 release currently supports iBus, XIM, and Mac OS X.

We can use yum or dnf to install sunpinyin on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install sunpinyin.

Install sunpinyin on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install sunpinyin using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install sunpinyin

Install sunpinyin on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install sunpinyin using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install sunpinyin

How To Uninstall sunpinyin on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the sunpinyin package we can use the following command:
