How To Install subnetcalc on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install subnetcalc
on Fedora 36.
What is subnetcalc
SubNetCalc is an IPv4/IPv6 subnet address calculator. For given IPv4 or IPv6 address and netmask or prefix length, it calculates network address, broadcast address, maximum number of hosts and host address range. Also, it prints the addresses in binary format for better understandability. Furthermore, it prints useful information on specific address types (e.g. type, scope, interface ID, etc.).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install subnetcalc
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install subnetcalc.
Install subnetcalc on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install subnetcalc
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install subnetcalc
Install subnetcalc on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install subnetcalc
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install subnetcalc
How To Uninstall subnetcalc on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the subnetcalc
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove subnetcalc
