How To Install spill on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install spill
on Fedora 36.
What is spill
spill is a program for creating set of symbolic links from one directory hierarchy which point to corresponding file names in a separate directory hierarchy. It’s primary use is to allow packages built from source to be installed in separate directory trees, which are all linked together under a common directory tree to reduce the length of the PATH environment variable.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install spill
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install spill.
Install spill on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install spill
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install spill
Install spill on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install spill
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install spill
How To Uninstall spill on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the spill
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove spill
