How To Install socket_wrapper on Fedora 36

In this tutorial we learn how to install socket_wrapper
on Fedora 36.
What is socket_wrapper
socket_wrapper aims to help client/server software development teams willing to gain full functional test coverage. It makes it possible to run several instances of the full software stack on the same machine and perform locally functional testing of complex network configurations. To use it set the following environment variables LD_PRELOAD=libsocket_wrapper.so SOCKET_WRAPPER_DIR=/path/to/swrap_dir This package doesn’t have a devel package because this project is for development/testing.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install socket_wrapper
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install socket_wrapper.
Install socket_wrapper on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install socket_wrapper
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install socket_wrapper
