In this tutorial we learn how to install safekeep-client
on Fedora 36.
What is safekeep-client
SafeKeep is a client/server backup system which enhances the power of rdiff-backup with simple, centralized configuration. This is the client component of SafeKeep. It should be installed on all hosts that need to be backed-up.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install safekeep-client
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install safekeep-client.
Install safekeep-client on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install safekeep-client
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install safekeep-client
Install safekeep-client on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install safekeep-client
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install safekeep-client
How To Uninstall safekeep-client on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the safekeep-client
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove safekeep-client
