In this tutorial we learn how to install ruby-player on Fedora 36.

What is ruby-player

This package contains the Ruby client-side bindings for player. If you would like to build player clients using Ruby you will need to install this package. Includes bindings built against the C and C++ client libraries. Ruby bindings are experimental.

We can use yum or dnf to install ruby-player on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ruby-player.

Install ruby-player on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install ruby-player using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ruby-player

Install ruby-player on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install ruby-player using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install ruby-player

How To Uninstall ruby-player on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the ruby-player package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ruby-player
