How To Install rdesktop on Fedora 36
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install rdesktop
on Fedora 36.
What is rdesktop
rdesktop is an open source client for Windows NT Terminal Server and Windows 2000 & 2003 Terminal Services, capable of natively speaking Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) in order to present the user’s NT desktop. Unlike Citrix ICA, no server extensions are required.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install rdesktop
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rdesktop.
Install rdesktop on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rdesktop
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rdesktop
Install rdesktop on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install rdesktop
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rdesktop
How To Uninstall rdesktop on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the rdesktop
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rdesktop
