What is python3-random2
This package provides a Python 3 ported version of Python 2.7’s random module. In Python 3, the implementation of randrange() was changed, so that even with the same seed you get different sequences in Python 2 and 3. Note that several high-level functions such as randint() and choice() use randrange(). In my testing code I heavily rely on stable random generator results and it makes porting code to Python 3 a lot harder, if all those tests have to be adjusted. This package fixes that.
We can use yum or dnf to install python3-random2 on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python3-random2.
Install python3-random2 on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python3-random2 using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python3-random2
Install python3-random2 on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python3-random2 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python3-random2
How To Uninstall python3-random2 on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the python3-random2 package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python3-random2
