What is python3-ifcfg

Ifcfg is a cross-platform library for parsing ifconfig and ipconfig output in Python. It is useful for pulling information such as IP, Netmask, MAC Address, Hostname, etc. A fallback to ip is included for newer Unix systems w/o ifconfig.

We can use yum or dnf to install python3-ifcfg on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python3-ifcfg.

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
