Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install prename
on Fedora 36.
What is prename
Prename renames the file names supplied according to the rule specified as the first argument. The argument is a Perl expression which is expected to modify the $_ string for at least some of the file names specified.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install prename
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install prename.

Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install prename
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install prename

After updating yum database, We can install prename
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install prename
How To Uninstall prename on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the prename
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove prename
