What is phpcpd

phpcpd is a Copy/Paste Detector (CPD) for PHP code. The goal of phpcpd is not not to replace more sophisticated tools such as phpcs, pdepend, or phpmd, but rather to provide an alternative to them when you just need to get a quick overview of duplicated code in a project.

We can use yum or dnf to install phpcpd on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install phpcpd.

Install phpcpd on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install phpcpd using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install phpcpd

Install phpcpd on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install phpcpd using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install phpcpd

How To Uninstall phpcpd on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the phpcpd package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove phpcpd
