What is `perl-version`

Version objects were added to Perl in 5.10. This module implements version objects for older version of Perl and provides the version object API for all versions of Perl. All previous releases before 0.74 are deprecated and should not be used due to incompatible API changes. Version 0.77 introduces the new ‘parse’ and ‘declare’ methods to standardize usage. You are strongly urged to set 0.77 as a minimum in your code.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-version on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-version.

Install perl-version on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install perl-version using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install perl-version

Install perl-version on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install perl-version using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install perl-version

How To Uninstall perl-version on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the perl-version package we can use the following command:
