What is perl-CGI

CGI.pm is a stable, complete and mature solution for processing and preparing HTTP requests and responses. Major features including processing form submissions, file uploads, reading and writing cookies, query string generation and manipulation, and processing and preparing HTTP headers. Some HTML generation utilities are included as well. CGI.pm performs very well in in a vanilla CGI.pm environment and also comes with built-in support for mod_perl and mod_perl2 as well as FastCGI.

We can use yum or dnf to install perl-CGI on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install perl-CGI.

Install perl-CGI on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install perl-CGI using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install perl-CGI

Install perl-CGI on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install perl-CGI using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install perl-CGI

How To Uninstall perl-CGI on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the perl-CGI package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove perl-CGI
