What is `new-session-manager`

New Session Manager (NSM) is a tool to assist music production by grouping standalone programs into sessions. Your workflow becomes easy to manage, robust and fast by leveraging the full potential of cooperative applications. You can create a session, or project, add programs to it and then use commands to save, start/stop, hide/show all programs at once, or individually. At a later date you can then re-open the session and continue where you left off. All files belonging to the session will be saved in the same directory.

We can use yum or dnf to install new-session-manager on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install new-session-manager.

Install new-session-manager on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install new-session-manager using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install new-session-manager

Install new-session-manager on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install new-session-manager using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install new-session-manager
