How To Install mod_geoip on Fedora 36

In this tutorial we learn how to install mod_geoip
on Fedora 36.
What is mod_geoip
mod_geoip is an Apache module to look up geolocation information for a client as part of the HTTP request process. It uses the GeoIP library and database to perform the lookup. It is free software, licensed under the Apache license.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mod_geoip
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mod_geoip.
Install mod_geoip on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mod_geoip
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mod_geoip
Install mod_geoip on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mod_geoip
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mod_geoip
How To Uninstall mod_geoip on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the mod_geoip
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mod_geoip
