What is mod_auth_token

mod_auth_token allows you to generate URIS for a determined time window, you can also limit them by IP. This is very useful to handle file downloads, as generated URIS can’t be hot-linked (after it expires), also it allows you to protect very large files that can’t be piped trough a script languages due to memory limitation.

We can use yum or dnf to install mod_auth_token on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mod_auth_token.

Install mod_auth_token on Fedora 36 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mod_auth_token using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mod_auth_token

Install mod_auth_token on Fedora 36 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mod_auth_token using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install mod_auth_token

How To Uninstall mod_auth_token on Fedora 36

To uninstall only the mod_auth_token package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mod_auth_token
