In this tutorial we learn how to install moarvm
on Fedora 36.
What is moarvm
Short for “Metamodel On A Runtime”, MoarVM is a virtual machine built especially for Rakudo Perl 6 and the NQP Compiler Toolchain. MoarVM is a back-end for NQP. MoarVM already stands out among the various Rakudo and NQP compilation targets by typically Running the Perl 6 specification test suite fastest Having the lowest memory usage Having the best start-up time Being fastest to build both NQP and Rakudo - and thus in theory your Perl 6 and NQP programs too!
We can use yum
or dnf
to install moarvm
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install moarvm.
Install moarvm on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install moarvm
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install moarvm
Install moarvm on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install moarvm
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install moarvm
How To Uninstall moarvm on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the moarvm
package we can use the following command:
