How To Install mingw64-readline on Fedora 36

What is mingw64-readline
The Readline library provides a set of functions that allow users to edit command lines. Both Emacs and vi editing modes are available. The Readline library includes additional functions for maintaining a list of previously-entered command lines for recalling or editing those lines, and for performing csh-like history expansion on previous commands. This is a port of the library and development tools to Windows.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mingw64-readline
on Fedora 36. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mingw64-readline.
Install mingw64-readline on Fedora 36 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-readline
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mingw64-readline
Install mingw64-readline on Fedora 36 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install mingw64-readline
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install mingw64-readline
How To Uninstall mingw64-readline on Fedora 36
To uninstall only the mingw64-readline
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mingw64-readline
